Green Hydrogen Facility Field Trip

Sponsored by Siemens Energy, Connecting Green Hydrogen MENA 2022 will organize a 180-min on-site field trip to visit the first industrial-scale, solar-driven green hydrogen facility in the Middle East and North Africa, located at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai. 
Co-developed by Siemens Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and Expo 2020 Dubai, this integrated facility was developed with electrolysis, storage, and re-electrification capabilities, to maximize the benefits of the pilot project. Daylight solar power from the solar park will enable the pilot project to produce around 20.5kg/hr of hydrogen at 1.25MWe of peak power.

Green Hydrogen Project

Siemens Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and Expo 2020 Dubai have partnered to establish the first industrial-scale solar-powered green hydrogen plant in the Middle East and Africa.  
Located at DEWA’s Outdoor Testing Facility of the Research and Development (R&D) Centre at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai, this trailblazing Green Hydrogen Project serves as a major milestone in the advancement of the sustainable energy industry in the region.

DEWA Research and Development (DEWA R&D) Centre

DEWA R&D Centre, located at Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MBR) Solar Park in Dubai, is part of a strong push for innovation and excellence at DEWA and is part of the organization’s commitment of AED 500 Mn for R&D and innovation up to 2020. The Centre has been divided into two complementing platforms; namely, technology platform and capability & competency platform.

DEWA Innovation Centre

The DEWA Innovation Centre is located at the heart of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The Centre acts as a clean technology innovation hub to promote sustainable energy future in Dubai and beyond. Through the Innovation Centre, DEWA aims to raise awareness on sustainability, while building national capabilities and increasing competitiveness.
